Go Buckeyes, Beat Xichigan Week

#BeachXichigan Week In Georgia & A Discount Code For My Book Series

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody! I’m prepping to host dinner tomorrow as I get some office work done. Ah… multitasking. I’m getting worse at it as I get older. My husband will be going to St. Simons Island (the next island over) to pick up my mom in a little bit. She lives in an assisted living facility over there, so she’ll spend the next few days at our house doing the holiday thing.

So, what’s for dinner tomorrow? The basics. We have a few friends joining us, but it’s still a small gathering so we didn’t need to get ridiculous. I’m making a few appetizers; our guests are bringing apps and wine. I’m roasting a turkey with stuffing, making gravy, broccoli casserole, cranberries, Mexican corn, Rolls, and several things for dessert and fresh whipped cream to top them. My girlfriend, Pam, is bringing the sweet potatoes. I’m all set! Now let’s see how close to my schedule things go, and how it all turns out. I’ll post pics if I don’t embarrass myself.

In the meantime, I’ve been fighting with my website and my Shopify store so that I could set up a discount for my friends. Now, if you buy the entire 4-book Gem of the Golden Isles Series, you can get 15% off with the promo code JEKYLL15. I was fighting with it because it seems like you should be able to click and put the whole collection in your shopping cart at once, but I haven’t figured that out yet. I did test it out though and with all four books in the cart, the discount code works perfectly. Now’s the perfect time to take care of that shopping list – go try out my discount code by buying the whole series!

Before I sign off today, I want to remind everyone that it is #BeatXichigan week here at my house on Jekyll Island. Also, all over Ohio and the rest of the country. But what’s important is how we all celebrate this momentous occasion at our own homes. I, for one, decorate my front yard. I also have Ohio State Christmas décor, but I’m not allowed to put that up until after Thanksgiving. According to my husband, every time you decorate before Thanksgiving, a baby flying reindeer dies. I can’t prove him wrong so I ain’t taking no chances! There will be more for me to show off after we get over tomorrow’s holiday hump. But in the meantime, the front yard is looking pretty good, as demonstrated by photo at the top of this blog.

I’m happily focused on football this year. Last year, by next weekend, our season was pretty much over. It was awful and I was bitter about it. Michigan’s little cheating scandal wasn’t adjudicated until after the season ended and they walked away as fake champions. They were cheaters. So, this year, the college QBs all have radios in their helmets to hear plays from their coaches. That’s the legacy left behind by disgraced former Xichigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. Don’t worry, Harbaugh is still coaching. He’s just moved on to a more appropriate position with the National Felons League (NFL).

Okay, I’d better stop before I offend people. But while I’m at it, I’m just going to add this. Notice how Xichigan couldn’t win this year without cheating like last year? Anybody else see a similarity to a certain Presidential campaign? I’m just sayin’.

Until next time, happy reading! Please go take advantage of the discount offer and buy the whole series!

Xoxo,

Sandy
