Wheeee, I did it! (Picture a Snoopy-style happy dance.) I just pushed publish on Book 3 – Treasure on Jekyll! Woop woop!
My very speedy proofreader caught a handful of mistakes that I fixed and Patti, from Gravitait Design, sent me the covers this afternoon. And bada-bing, bada-boom – I’ve uploaded it to Ingram Sparks (they’re the ones who sell to independent bookstores and run Bookshop.org). You should always try to buy your books at smaller, independent bookstores (or on Bookshop.org) when you can because online retailers are trying to put them out of business. And let’s face it, what would the world be without bookstores to roam through on a rainy day at the beach?
I also published Treasure on Jekyll – Gem of the Golden Isles Book Three – on Amazon and put the eBook in Kindle Unlimited (you’re welcome lol – I’m a KU girl, too). I have no idea when the paperbacks will be available – that’s a crapshoot because I’m waiting on proofs from the printers (one from Ingram and the other from KDP) but the eBook is available now. Yay!
If you’re reading this, you’re the first to know about the release of Book 3 – yes, I know I told readers it would be out in May, but I wasn’t anticipating rotator cuff surgery when I made that promise. And it was my first time self-publishing so I’m still learning the schedule. I’m not very good at it yet. And while editing with my left hand while on pain meds would have been entertaining, I’m afraid I would have added more mistakes than I caught. Thank you for your patience.
So, what’s Book 3 about? Okay, how to tell you about it without being a spoiler… If you haven’t read Books 1 and 2 yet – STOP READING RIGHT HERE. Go read Escape to Jekyll Island and In Bloom on Jekyll. Or just start at Treasure on Jekyll and let me know if I achieved every series writer’s goal of giving you enough information to pick up on Book 3 without feeling like you didn’t miss anything. My proofreader, Ruthmary, said it worked for her.
Treasure on Jekyll explores Tally’s journey from wedding planner to bride, and the wild ride that she takes Mitch on along the way. A few of you have asked if Tally will ever go back to Vieques Island – the answer is yes – she returns in Book 3. But it doesn’t go the way anybody could have predicted. I am not killing off Isabelle or Etah – don’t worry, I love those ladies wayyy too much. But a lot of you seemed to be worried that something was going to happen to them so let me reassure you, they’re a big part of Treasure on Jekyll.
Okay, a cool offer for you here if you’ve read this far. I’m going to give out ARCs (that stands for free advance reader copies) of the eBook to anybody who does the following until midnight on Friday.
- Sign up for the newsletter on my page by clicking here.
- Follow me on Facebook by clicking here.
- And email me at Sandy@SandyMalone.com with “ARC” written in the subject header, please.
I’ll send you a free copy of the eBook to read and review. That’s the key – if you love my books, please leave me a 5-star review on Amazon or Goodreads. If you haven’t done it for others you’ve read, please go do it now. It’s the crappy people who don’t write reviews that give me less than four stars. I just wish they’d tell me why they dinged me! If you hate my book and forget to review me, that’s totally okay.
Book 4 is underway – In the Shadows On Jekyll – and I’m having fun writing it. You guys get to meet a couple of new important characters. And Yaya gets a real love life, because it’s about time. But by now, you know that there’s a black cloud following Tally and she needs Mitch by her side to ward it off. What’s it going to take for them to get blue skies forever?
We’re leaving on a trip up north tomorrow so I don’t know how much writing I’ll do from the road. But if you email me to get an advance copy, I’ll send them out when we get to our hotel.
Until next time, happy reading! I’m so excited about Book 3 – please let me know if you like it!
Xoxo,
Sandy
