Please tell us about your family: My husband and I moved to Jekyll Island three years ago from the Washington, DC, area. We’re both native Washingtonians. He was a SWAT commander, and I was a political journalist, then a lobbyist, and eventually a Caribbean destination wedding planner after we moved to Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, when Bill retired. Hurricane Maria destroyed our successful, 11-year-old business in one night and we went back home to our condo in the DC area to start over and figure out where we wanted to go. We chose Jekyll and the Golden Isles for multiple reasons, and we love it here.
